The experience

A 1-day introduction to Phoenix Valley, giving its landscape and local character room to unfold.

Phoenix Valley in Shizong is a managed karst-valley attraction with steep rock scenery and vegetation in eastern Yunnan.

Your route: Shizong. Meet and finish at the agreed point in Shizong.

This is a suggested itinerary. The order can be adjusted around your arrival time, walking preferences and confirmed access, with a personal quotation before you book.

Your day-by-day journey

Day 1 — Phoenix Valley: Karst valley scenery

Morning: Explore Karst valley scenery along the open visitor routes, leaving time to pause and take in the landscape.

Later in the day: Make Rock formations the focus of this part of the visit. Leave time to look closely, ask questions and enjoy Phoenix Valley without fitting in an unrelated detour.

To round off the visit: Enjoy a closer look at Managed visitor paths, with the route adjusted to the terrain and time available.

Finish at the agreed meeting point in Shizong; no overnight stay is required.

Travel details

Getting here and getting around

The sightseeing plan starts in Shizong and finishes in Shizong. Agree your arrival station, airport or hotel before booking; these meeting points are not interchangeable. Local attraction and village access is by the road and visitor routes confirmed for your dates.

Keep the visit based around Shizong; a transfer from another city is an additional arrangement. Exact pick-up times, return arrangements and any internal scenic transport are confirmed before departure.

When to travel

Choose dates around the landscapes you most want to see. Summer rain can change waterfall conditions and path access; exposed viewpoints need suitable layers.

Stays and meals

This is a day outing with no hotel night built into the plan. Allow time for lunch, and confirm whether meals, drinking water and dietary arrangements are included in the proposal.

What your quotation covers

Ask for an itemised quotation covering the guide, agreed transfers, admission tickets, scenic-area transport, accommodation and meals you want included. A suggested experience is confirmed only when it appears in the final proposal.

International and onward travel, optional activities, personal purchases and unlisted meals are additional unless expressly included. Your dates, group size, room choices and service level determine the quotation; no fixed package price is implied.

This route suits curious travellers who prefer time to explore a place at walking pace. Families and mixed-age groups can request shorter visits and more breaks when planning their trip.

Can we change the pace or add another place?

Yes. Start with this 1-day outline and tell us which stops matter most. Extra places may need another day or a different overnight base; the final itinerary will show any change to transfers and nights.

What should we send with an enquiry?

Include your travel dates, number of travellers, children’s ages if relevant, arrival and departure points, accommodation preference and any access or dietary needs. The form below already identifies this journey.
